Tesla Supercharger Off Peak Hours
Tesla has introduced a Supercharger, a way to charge the vehicle more quickly than the usual time required. The supercharger is a response to the growing demand for efficient and sustainable charging, allowing you to charge multiple vehicles within a short period. The duration of battery recharge depends upon the type of battery your vehicle contains and the charger you use.
Home chargers need 6 to 12 hours to recharge a Tesla vehicle battery and public stations may take 3 to 4 hours, depending upon the model of your vehicle. But a supercharger can fully charge your vehicle within 15 to 20 minutes and costs a little extra. Tesla supercharger’s cost varies depending on its demand, and there are off peak hours when you can use superchargers at discounted prices.

Tesla Supercharger Off Peak Hours
Tesla vehicles are known for their long-lasting battery life, one can cover 150 to 200 miles with a single charge. Electric vehicles have rechargeable batteries, charge a vehicle at home for free and use it. You can charge your vehicle at home or visit a public electric power station to recharge your vehicle.
When you reach a public station, you can see multiple options, such as Wall Connector Charge, or Supercharge. If you do not know, supercharging is an option given by Tesla at public stations to quickly charge the vehicle. It can fully charge your vehicle within 15 to 20 minutes.
But superchargers are not easily available as all the connectors are occupied by people. Additionally, the cost of supercharging is also higher than the normal charge. But the good news is that the charging prices depend on the charger’s demand.
For example, the majority of people charge their vehicle when they leave for the office or business in the morning, or when they come back home in the evening. The prices of superchargers are high during these two time frames, and low at late night or in the afternoon.
What Are Supercharge Peak Peak Hours?
As I have mentioned above, the peak hours are when people are more prone to take their vehicles out of their houses. These hours are usually in the early morning when people depart for work or business and evening time when people return from their businesses. The peak hours also depend on the area where you live.
Normally, recorded peak hours are between 4 pm to 8 pm when people rush to charge their vehicles. The majority of people do not take the risk of charging their vehicles in the morning in order to prevent getting late from the office or workplace. They charge vehicles when they come home and that’s why the charging stations are full of vehicles between 4 pm to 8 pm.
When Should I Go To Charge My Tesla?
In my opinion, you should visit a public station after 9 pm if you want to get a little discount. In case you want to get a nearly free supercharge, you should visit the station late at night. Another best time frame for discounted supercharge is between 9 am to 11 am when the stations are empty.
But you will notice that after 3 pm, people start coming to public stations and the price gradually rises which goes down after 8 pm. So, visiting a Tesla public station between 9 am to 11 am, after 9 pm, or late at night can save you money, and you will charge your vehicle within a few minutes.
Factors That Impact The Price Of Supercharge
It is not only time that impacts the price of a supercharger, but a list of factors that contribute to battery charging prices. Location is the most important one of them and the charging speed of the station can also alter the price. Let’s see the factors that impact the prices of superchargers.
- Location: The price of a supercharger aligns with the price of electricity in the region. For example, in the UK electricity cost is high compared to the USA, and the Tesla charge price in the UK is higher than in the USA.
- Charging Speed: The supercharger technology is improving day by day. If you are using an old charging machine, Tesla may cost you less compared to the new supercharger.
